This kit is for installing a TH400 transmission (short tail only) into a Third Generation F-Body. The kit includes the transmission crossmember required to install the TH400 transmission, along with our crossmember mounted adjustable torque arm. The TH400 transmission has no provisions to mount the OEM torque arm onto the transmission tailshaft.  This kit makes the TH400 swap an easy bolt right in installation!

Spohn's "truss-style" framing system is constructed of 1.75" x .120" wall tubing for serious, uncompromised rigidity. The frame rail connects to the front lower control arm mounting area and runs the entire length of the rocker panel, it ends at the rear side of the front wheel well. The main shaft is formed to fit the contour of the floor board, providing for weld contact area the entire length of the frame shaft, and no ground clearance loss.

Aftermarket rears dish out a few problems that need to be dealt with in order to install the rear sway bar. The first problem is they use a larger o.d. axle tube compared to the OEM rear, thus the stock u-bolts and saddles won't work. The second is that the torque arm mounting pad hangs much lower than on the stock rear, and the sway bar hits it, preventing installation onto the axle tubes.
